Spain is passion, energy, aromas that fill the streets, and flavors that warm the heart. Among the most beloved specialties are churros: golden, crispy, and irresistible.

In this first stop of Recipes from Around the World, we’ve reinterpreted them with a Versilfood touch: a warm, velvety Mixed Berry sauce, where the intensity of the fruit meets the sweetness of sugar for a truly unforgettable contrast.

An easy recipe to prepare, yet one that surprises from the very first bite

Ingredients

  • 1 bag of Versilfood Mixed Berries
  • 250 ml water
  • 145 g all-purpose flour
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Lemon juice, to taste
  • Oil for frying, as needed

Preparation

  1. Bring the water to a boil with a pinch of salt.
  2. Remove from the heat and add the flour, stirring until you obtain a compact and smooth dough.
  3. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe the churros directly into hot oil.
  4. Fry until golden, then drain and coat them in sugar.
  5. In a small saucepan, cook the Versilfood Mixed Berries with sugar and a few drops of lemon juice until you obtain a thick, fragrant and velvety sauce.
  6. Serve the churros warm, ready to dip into the berry sauce.
